CBT

The Computer Based Training (CBT) icon opens a screen to define the path to a computer based training course location. This code is then entered into the Course/Competency record of the CBT. This can be either an internally located file or an external file.

Computer Based Training classes are courses that can be taken online using a computer. When successfully completed, these CBT classes fulfill the requirement of the course. Some courses can be taken through either a traditional class or as a CBT class. When a class is offered as a computer based training class, the CBT icon is displayed. Click on the icon to link to the class. Authorized employees can also select a Computer Based Training program from Actions > Employee > Computer Based Training.

Steps to Create a Computer Based Training Class:

From Configuration > Education Tracking, select the Computer Based Training icon.

1. Click on the Add button to open a screen to configure a new record.

2. Enter a Code and Description to identify this record.

3. In the Is External field, enter No to indicate this CBT course is located internally or Yes to indicate it is provided externally by a third-party vendor.

   • When this value is set to No, the Scorm Manifest Location field is enabled. Enter the network path to the manifest file to launch this CBT

   • When this value is set to Yes, additional fields are available to enter vendor information.

     1. In the Vendor field, enter the name of the third-party vendor.

     2. In the Vendor Form field, enter the name of the form that is submitted when the user launches a CBT.

     3. In the External CBT Course field, enter the identification code of the external CBT course.

4. Click on Save to save the record.
