Shift Breaks

Note

For the Break Attestation feature and the information included here, "shift breaks" mean non-meal breaks. For example, you may be entitled to one 15-minute non-meal break and a 30-minute meal break. The Break Attestation feature refers only to, in this example, the 15-minute non-meal break.

Some organizations must comply with regulations regarding the tracking of their employees' shift breaks. To help conform to those rules, employees need to enter their break details in Time and Attendance, allowing the organization to review and report on employee break compliance.

Note that this feature is similar to the Lunch Attestation feature where employees must answer (attest to) questions about whether they were able to take their meal breaks during their shifts. In many cases, both Lunch Attestation and Break Attestation will be used, but they do not need to be and can be used independently. For more information, see Lunch Attestation Introduction.
