Employee Use
When using the Lunch Attestation feature, the only change for employees is that one or two prompts appear when clocking.
Regardless of the clocking method, such as a device, TimeCall, or Quick Badge, a prompt asks whether this clocking is the final out clocking (punch) for the shift. The default prompt is, "Is this your final out punch? If so, select Yes, otherwise, select No."
Tip
If you had another clocking within the last 24 hours, the screen shows the clocking's time with a timer that continuously updates to show the elapsed time since the last clocking. Seeing your last clocking time can be helpful, for example, to know when you clocked out for lunch so that you can ensure you are clocking back in at an appropriate time. This is important for Lunch Attestation so that you can attest to taking a full, uninterrupted meal break.
If the employee answers:
-
No, this is not the final out clocking, then the clocking process continues normally.
-
Yes, this is the final out clocking, then a second prompt asks whether the employee took a full, uninterrupted lunch break during the shift. The default prompt is, "Have you taken your full uninterrupted lunch today? If so, select Yes, otherwise, select No."
After responding to this prompt, the clocking continues normally.
The wording of the prompts for Quick Badge and the EIS 1100/1200 and Series 5000 devices may be different than the default wording since they can be changed for each organization. The prompts on TA-500 devices and through TimeCall cannot be changed.
Note
When adding clockings, employees do not enter a No Lunch special code. Their answers to the Lunch Attestation prompts will apply the No Lunch special code automatically, when applicable.
The automatically applied No Lunch special code does not appear on the Time Card Screen, Time Card Report, or LaborViews.
Changing the Lunch Prompt Answer
If employees need to make a change to their answers to the lunch prompt, they need to submit a clocking request with the change to the answer. This assumes the employee has been given the TA Employee (Request Clockings) authorization role or your corresponding replicated role.
