Quick Codes
The Quick Codes button opens a screen displaying the codes used by this employee to enter alternate labor distribution information. When badging into the system, the employee only needs to enter the quick code value and the system can identify the organization unit, job class, and all other labor distribution information for that work assignment. This saves the employee time and effort at the input devices.
Employees can create any number of quick codes. For example, an employee can create one quick code to indicate when he/she is working as a Charge Nurse in the ICU department. The same employee can create another quick code to indicate when he/she is working as an RN in the Med/Surg department and the charges should be tracked for a specific grant.
Quick codes are entered through input devices such as badge readers or through the Quick Badge screen in the portal

Quick codes can be added in this screen, and can then be edited or deleted from this screen as well. For more information, see Steps for Adding a New Quick Code.
-
Quick codes that were automatically created from Labor Distribution records are displayed on this screen with read-only access. These records cannot be edited or deleted from this screen, but must be updated in the employee's Labor Distribution screen.
-
Quick codes that are expired can be hidden in this listing. Click on the check box to the left of the Hide Expired Records option in the left pane.
Note
Application Indicator System Standard 19 determines whether or not the labor distribution associated with an existing transaction is changed when a Quick Code is added to a transaction or when a code already assigned to the transaction is changed.
