Controller Assignments

The Controller Assignments button is used to open a screen to add this employee as a Controller, or to edit or view existing supervisor assignments for this employee.

Controllers differ from the standard supervisor in that controllers do not have specific employees assigned to them. Rather, a controller has supervisors assigned to them. When a controller accesses the Supervisor LaborView, the controller views a list of their assigned supervisors. A controller can review the progress each supervisor has made in the current pay period.

Controllers may also view the same reports supervisors assigned to them view. A controller may make changes, transmit changes, or approve the same as the underlying supervisor can.

Controllers have additional capabilities to lock Time Card reports as payroll deadlines approach. Once the Time Card reports are locked, supervisors can no longer make changes to the reports.

When this page is open, the supervisors currently assigned to the open Controller employee record are displayed.

For more information on adding controller assignments, see the section in this document on Steps for Adding Controller Assignments.

Note

The employee must be given a Controller role before the Controller Assignments button is available. For more information, see Employee Roles.

Tip

To configure multiple Controller records, this information can also be entered through Configuration > Employee > Controller Assignment. When multiple Controllers are selected, each assignment is handled separately. The name of the Controller whose record is open is displayed in the Controller Navigator in the left pane. Click on the left arrow to scroll to the next record.
