Stations

The Stations screen is where records can be configured as requirements to work a specific profile assignment. Stations are used to differentiate between employees with the same job class/position who are qualified for a work assignment from those who are not. Only employees with matching station records in their employee record are qualified to be scheduled.

Example

An example of a station qualification could be the Charge station, assigned to the Charge Nurse profile to differentiate between RN employees who are qualified to work as a charge nurse from those who are not. Only RN employees with the station of Charge would be scheduled to work as a Charge Nurse.

Another example of a station qualification could be the Baker or Breakfast Cook stations in Nutrition Services. Only employees with these station qualifications would be scheduled to work these profiles.

Note

Stations are assigned to employees through Employee > Employee > Labor Distribution > Station. The Station button is available when a labor distribution record is open and the employee is assigned a position code that is linked to a station requirement through the Profile configuration screen.

Stations are assigned as requirements to profiles through Configuration > Labor Distribution > Profile.
