Effective Dating

Effective Dating allows you to define the specific date a productivity record and its associated data goes into effect, and optionally expires, in the Business Analytics solution. A record can span future or past dates. Past changes may be restricted in some situations such as when historical data is not available or Pay Groups have been changed.

For example, let's say you are implementing a new department next quarter in which you need to track admissions and discharges. You can create a productivity record for that organization unit and productivity unit combination, and configure the effective date as the first day of the next quarter.

Likewise if you close a department, or a department stops tracking certain types of work, all you need to do is enter an expiration date for the associated productivity records.

Tip

When you expire a productivity record associated with any active standards, the system will prompt you to expire both these standards and the productivity record on the expiration date you have entered.
