General
The General button opens a screen which shows basic information on the job class, including associated number, organization unit, and grade.
If available, Indicator and/or Parameter tabs open screens to view settings that determine processing rules specific to the open record.

Abbreviation
The alphanumeric abbreviated code identifying this job class. This value is set up on Job Class Parameter System Standard Alpha 1.
This value can be displayed on the schedule grid employee columns and in certain scheduling reports in place of the job class code. More than one job class can have the same abbreviation.
Active
Indicates whether this job class is currently being used by the system and can be assigned. (Yes/No)
Job classes that are no longer valid but have been previously assigned cannot be deleted from the system. This is to maintain historical integrity of data. Job classes can be deactivated by setting this value to No, so they can no longer be assigned.
Code
The alphanumeric short name or abbreviation identifying the job class.
Description
The label describing the job class.
Employee Category Code
The employee category, such as Hourly or Exempt, that should be assigned to the employee for rules processing when working this job class.
Grade Code
Indicates an optional grade level associated with the job class.
Number
The numeric value used to identify the job class. This can be used with input devices.
Organization Unit
Select the appropriate code for this field. The number of organization unit levels available and the organization unit names displayed depend upon the corporate structure.
