Supervisor Assignment
The Supervisor Assignment screen is used to view or edit existing supervisor assignments or to add a new supervisor assignment to a user.
A supervisor is a member of the management staff, who maintains direct control over the management of their employees' time and attendance related data. Depending on the authorization level, Supervisors are able to view, edit and/or approve time cards of employees assigned to them, or view employee reports.
There are three levels of supervisors: Approver, Editor, and Read-Only. The level assigned to a specific supervisor is determined by the Authorization Level of the roles that are assigned to him/her. For more information on Roles, see
.Approving Supervisor
-
Approving supervisors have both editing and approving capabilities. The Supervisor may view, edit and approve a report for return to payroll. There may be multiple approving supervisors for any given employee. Approving supervisors are typically those individuals who "sign off" or approve Time Card reports.
-
The approving supervisor has the ability to forward their reports to another supervisor with approving, editing or read-only capabilities. When an approving supervisor does forward a report with approval capabilities, that supervisor retains his or her approval capabilities.
-
Approving supervisors and reports they approve are not represented with a symbol.
Editing Supervisor
-
Editing supervisors have editing capabilities, but not approving capabilities. An employee may have multiple editing supervisors. Editing supervisors are typically a unit secretary or other individuals who update employee calendar and/or clocking information throughout the pay period, but do not approve the employee's time.
-
Editing supervisors have the ability to forward their reports to other supervisors with editing capabilities or as a read-only copy.
-
Editing supervisors and the reports they can edit are represented with the Editor symbol.
Read Only Supervisor
-
Read-only supervisors do not have approval or editing capabilities. These users may only view the report. Read-only supervisors are typically individuals who review reports, but have no need to make any edits to the information.
-
Read-only supervisors have the ability to forward their reports to other supervisors with read-only capabilities.
-
Read-only supervisors and reports they review are represented with the read-only symbol.
